The Issue Of Privacy On Computers And The Internet
The argument ââ¬Å"Nothing to hide, nothing to fearâ⬠states that as individuals we are entitled to privacy unless our private on goings involve illegal activities (Wikipedia). Conversely ââ¬Å"Computers and privacy donââ¬â¢t mixâ⬠suggests that the concept of privacy is non-existent when using computers, due to the nature of computers themselves. Both statements feed into the issue of privacy on the platform of computers. This essay contends that privacy on computers and the internet is a complex problem due to the poor state the law governing it and privacy being misunderstood by society on the computer platform due to the infancy of the internet and computers and security issues that could be similarly regarded as part of problem to why computers and privacy donââ¬â¢t mix at this point in time and that even In order to discuss both arguments and come to an informed decision that is relevant to the topic, what privacy means must be considered.
